William Winters

August 15, 1933 — April 12, 2013

William Winters, 79 of Kingman died at 8:56 a. m. Friday April 12, 2013 at his home following a short illness. He was born August 15, 1933 at Bloomington, IL the son of Harry J. and Violet (Scott) Winters.

Bill attended Danville Schools and served in the Marine Corp in Korea. He was employed 42 years at GM Central Foundry before retiring. He moved to Kingman area from Danville in 1973. He was a member of Cates Community Church, Local 579 Retirees, and Kingman American Legion.

Bill married Delores Moore August 7, 1955 at St. James Methodist Church, Danville, and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Terry Winters of Covington; 6 grandsons, Toby (Robin) Vincent, Brad (Brooke) Vincent, Joseph (Ashton) Vincent, Andy (Carissa) Vincent, Evan (Katrina) Long, and Brice Long; a granddaughter, Erin (Ramon Valez) Long; 20 great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Burk of Danville, IL; three brothers, Roy Winters of Villa Park, IL; Fred (Shirley) Winters of Overton, TX; Ron (Aleta) Winters of Gladewater, TX. His parents and a daughter, Brenda Long preceded him in death.

Visitation will be 3:00 to 6:00 p. m. EDT Sunday at Shelby Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a. m. EDT Monday April 15, 2013 at Shelby Funeral Home with Donald Hesler officiating. Burial will follow in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery with military honors by the Marine Corp and Kingman American Legion.
