William E. “Bill” Osborn, 90, of Covington died at 2:37 P. M. Tuesday April 2, 2019 at Williamsport Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was born December 10, 1928 at Grand Rapids, MI the son of Olin D. and Hazel Edison Osborn.
Bill grew up in Covington and was a 1946 graduate of Covington High School. He served in the Army from 1947 to 1951, fifteen years in the Army National Guard, and was a fireman 15 years at Jacksonville Naval Air Station. After retiring he returned to Covington in 1992 and was a member of the City Council for eight years.
His memberships included the Covington First Church of Christ, and American Legion.
Bill married Reba M. Beck November 2, 1979 at Jacksonville, FL and she survives of Williamsport. Also surviving are two sons, Alan Osborn of Jacksonville, FL and William E. Osborn, Jr. (wife Susan) of Peoria, IL; three step children, Debbi Deal of Williamsport, Becky Cotton of Homer, AK, and Tim McKee of Spartanburg, SC; two grandchildren Daniella Osborn, Greensboro, NC and Allison Osborn, Peoria, IL; five step grandchildren and one step great grandson. His parents and a son preceded him in death.
