Wanda I. Richardson, 74 of rural Cayuga died at home Monday October 17, 2011. She was born March 24, 1937 at Danville, IL the daughter of Harold Emery and Janeice (Keller) Cooper.
She was a resident of Fountain, Warren and Vermillion Counties most of her life and a graduate of Waverly High School in Tennessee. Wanda was a homemaker, who enjoyed sewing, gardening, singing, dancing, karaoke, and lived for her grandchildren.
Wanda married Lawrence M. Larry Richardson February 26, 1956 at Gessie. He died February 3, 2001. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mindell (Ron) Ritter of Lake Charles, LA, and Michelle (Brian) Hughes of Perrysville; a sister Delores Hollowell of Covington; 5 grandchildren, Laycia, Kacey and Austin Ritter, Ethan and Jacob Hughes. Her parents, a son Kim, and a brother Harold G. Cooper preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at Shelby Funeral Home 10:00 a. m. Saturday October 22, 2011 with Pastor Robert Fairchild officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p. m. Friday. Memorials requested to Shawnee Learning Center or Friendship Circle Center with envelopes available at Shelby Funeral Home.
