Perrysville Wallace Earl Wally Clingan, 74 of Perrysville, IN passed away on Saturday August 18, 2012 at his home, after a long battle with cancer.
Wally was born April 2, 1938 in Clinton, IN, son of Robert and Letha Mae (Jordan) Clingan.
He married Betty Lou Stiers on April 16, 2004. She survives.
Wally is also survived by a daughter Jenifer (Kurt) Dinsmore of Covington, IN and a son Dennis (Christine) Clingan of Albuquerque, NM, three grandchildren, Michael Dinsmore, Kasey Clingan and Ryan Clingan. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Wally graduated from Perrysville High School in 1955. He served in the Air National Guard during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a service engineer with Hyster Company and retired in 2001.
Wally was a pilot for many years. He loved flying and building experimental airplanes. He was a member of the Kickapoo Flyers Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association. The last plane he built was a Kis two-seater in his favorite color, yellow. He enjoyed being able to fly from his home runway.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p. m. EDT Friday at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, and one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be 11:00 a. m. EDT Saturday August 25, 2012 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1949 N Bowman Ave., Danville, IL. Burial will follow in Hicks Cemetery, Perrysville, IN.
