Thomas R. Allen

Thomas R. Allen, 81 of Danville, died at 12:03 PM Tuesday April 1, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center Danville.

He was born October 30, 1932, at Denver, CO. to Milton W. and Margaret (Weldon) Allen.

Thomas married Geraldine (Brown) Mansfield on December 19, 1970 in Danville, IL. She preceded him in death on April 30, 1983.

A Navy veteran of the Korean War, Thomas was a salesman for many years at Barkman Chevrolet and the Paymaster Corporation.

He loved his family and watching baseball along with Thursday mornings at McDonalds.

Thomas is survived by his son Gary (Marsha) Mansfield of Danville, 2 grandchildren: Nicole (Daniel Laird) of

Rossville, IL. And Michael Krabbe of Conroe, Texas also three great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents,

wife and two daughters: Susan Miller and Marquitta Krabbe.

A visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday April 5, 2014 in the Protestant Chapel at the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care Center in Danville. Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 PM in the Chapel with Chaplain Marcus Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Songer Cemetery in Tilton, IL. with military graveside rites accorded by American Legion Post 210 of Danville.
