Terry Lee Newkirk

Terry Newkirk, 58, of Covington, Indiana, passed away on January 18, 2024. He was born on May 6, 1965. Terry was the owner of K&J Service many years ago and he also worked at Napa for 18 years before joining Flex N Gate.

In his free time, Terry was an avid Hoosiers Basketball fan and enjoyed playing golf at River Crest Golf Course. When not on the golf course with his special friends or rooting for the Hoosiers, Terry loved to grill for his family.

Terry is survived by his children Kim (Keith Asbury) Drollinger of Covington and JP (Amanda) Newkirk of Knoxville, TN, as well as his cherished grandchildren Katie, Karlee, Mason, and Jayna. He also leaves behind his fiance, Adeana McCool of Covington; her son, Dylan Cook of Cayuga; and his siblings Pam (Bruce) Whitfield and Rodger Newkirk also of Covington.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruth Newkirk; his son, Josh Newkirk; and nephew, Michael Whitfield.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Shelby Funeral Home located in Covington, Indiana.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at First Assembly of God, Covington from 3-6 pm, Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Funeral Service will be held at the church at 1pm, January 25, 2024 with Pastor Bob Fairchild officiating.  Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent in Terry’s name to the VFW Post # 2395 in Covington.
Terry Newkirk will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and the community he served.
