Terry Lee Holland

Terry Lee Holland, 76, of Covington Indiana died at Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis, Wednesday January 12, 2022.

Terry was born July 24, 1945 in Danville IL to Maurice & Alberta (Clingan) Holland.  He graduated from Covington High School in 1963.  On May 7, 1966 he married Sandy (Gayler) and they enjoyed 49 years of marriage before her passing August 20, 2015.

Terry served for 6 years in Attica as part of the Indiana National Guard. He lived and worked 39 years as a lineman for Duke Energy, retiring in 2007.

Terry was a Cubs baseball & Indiana University basketball fan, and spent the last 14 years watching his grandkids play basketball, baseball, tennis and track. He and Sandy made many wonderful memories traveling with family and friends, including special trips to Hawaii with their friends since childhood, the Hunts and Coffings. He loved working outside gardening, or on the farm with his friend George Galloway.

Surviving are three sons William (Keena) Holland of Covington IN, Michael (Maribeth) of Williamsport IN, Nick of Urbana Il; four grandchildren Drew, Therin, Christian, and Tatum Holland; brother-in-law Gary Gayler, sisters-in-law Vic (Randy) Hollis and Tam Nickle, and many loved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters-in-law Linda Miller and Judy Gayler.

Arrangements are as follows: Visitation is 2:00 to 5:00 P. M. Sunday January 16, 2022. Funeral service 11:00 A. M. Monday January 17, 2022 at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, Indiana with Gary Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Terry’s honor can be made to the Lee & Thelma T.
