Steve Lee Graves

Steve Lee Graves, 58, of rural Kingman died at 10:40 P. M. Saturday May 7, 2016 at home following an extended illness. He was born December 19, 1957 at Danville, IL the son of Glen Arthur and Velma Lucille (Barker) Graves.

Steve was a life resident of Fountain County and a graduate of Covington High School. He attended the former Osborn Prairie Church and was a Charter member of the Mens Auxiliary of VFW Post # 2395. He was employed at Olin/Flexel twenty-one years, Kelly Construction Company and recently at Steel Grip in Covington.

His hobbies were fishing, hunting, bird watching, Colts fan, and hanging out with family and friends.

Steve is survived by a son, Aaron Graves of Covington; two sisters, Linda (late Jerry) Townsend, Jean (Brad) Myrick, both of Covington; a brother Dean (Jean Ann) Graves of Kingman; a granddaughter Callie Jean Graves; five step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a special friend Pastor Dick Byers. His parents, a brother Cash and grandparents preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Thursday May 12, 2016 at 2:00 P. M EDT at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Ryan Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in Coal Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P. M. EDT Wednesday at the funeral home.
