Sally Engle

Sally Engle, 80, of Covington died at 12:01 A. M. Saturday April 3, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.  She was born April 3, 1941 at Cayuga, IN the daughter of Howard and Helen (Fable) Mitchell.

Sally grew up in Cayuga and graduated from Cayuga High School in 1959.  She received her master’s degree from Indiana State University.  She was a school teacher for twenty-five years at Georgetown and North Vermillion Schools.  She was a member of Covington United Methodist Church, Coffeenians, Zeta Tau Alpha, and formerly a member of Kiwanians.

Sally married David Engle June 24, 1962 at Cayuga, IN and he preceded her in death April 14, 2006.  Surviving are three children, Eric (Kelly) Engle, Alison (John) Karrfalt, both of Covington, Alex (Brandi) Engle of Evergreen, CO, a brother Dick (Ruby) Mitchell of Escondido, CA, and her significant other James Rains of Salt Springs, FL.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Ethan Engle, Karsyn Engle, Madison Karrfalt, Alan Karrfalt Brian Karrfalt, Lane Engle, Arianna Engle, and Samuel Engle.  Her parents and husband preceded her in death.

Per Sally’s wishes cremation was chosen.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P. M. Monday April 5, 2021 at the Covington United Methodist Church.
