Ruth Ann Newkirk

Ruth Ann Newkirk, 79, of Covington died a 9:10 A. M. Tuesday May 18, 2021 at Majestic Care in Fort Wayne, IN.  She was born December 23, 1941 at Attica, IN the daughter of Forest Ray Pitzer and Florence Louise (Crudge) Pitzer.

She was a life resident of Fountain County, and attended Veedersburg Schools.  She was employed at Medline 25 years and Covington IGA 20 years before retiring in August 2013.  Ruth enjoyed her family, family gatherings, especially taking care of her grandchildren, and watching the Chicago Cubs.

Ruth married Harold Lee Newkirk June 14, 1959, and they were married sixty-two years before he died October 11, 2019.

Surviving are three children, Pam Whitfield & husband Bruce, Terry Newkirk & fiancee Adeana McCool, Rodger Newkirk & wife Jenny, all of Covington; a sister Jean Clifton & husband Gerald Brown of Covington, a brother Don Pitzer & wife Tami of Bismarck, IL; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, son Dennis Ray, Brother Dale Pitzer, two grandsons, Joshua Newkirk and Michael Whitfield.

Funeral services Monday May 24, 2021 at 1:00 P. M. EDT in Covington First Assembly of God with Pastor Robert Fairchild officiating.  Visitation 11:00 A. M. until 1:00 P. M. time of services.
