Ruth Ann Miller, 71, of State Line, IN. died unexpectedly at 10:01 A. M. Thursday February 4, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital Emergency room. She was born April 6, 1944 at Ottawa, IL the daughter of Roy and Rena (Brakebill) Peters.
Ruth was the current postmaster at State Line, having held the position the past four years. She was a resident of State Line for twenty-one years, moving from Gulfport, MS. and previously Ottawa, IL. She was a graduate of Ottawa High School. Her memberships include the Red Hat Society, and Ottawa Butterfly Girls.
Ruth married James W. Miller September 7, 1963 at Ottawa, IL and he preceded her in death April 10, 2011.
Surviving are five sons, Jeff (Missy) Miller of Georgetown, IL; Brian (Katie) Miller of Lakeland, FL; Greg (Tammy) Miller of Gulfport, MS; Jason Miller of Danville, IL; Brad (Becky) Miller of Fishers, IN; a step daughter Teena (Tom) Bevard of Bushnell, IL; a brother Roy (Cathy) Peters of Ottawa, IL; six grandchildren, Tony, Josh, Lauren, Kyle, Tyler and Kaitlyn Miller; and three great-grandchildren. Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. EST Monday February 8, 2016 at Shelby Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Dewlen officiating. Burial will be in Gordon Cemetery, Danville, IL.
