Ruth Louise Craycraft Manning

Veedersburg, IN.> Ruth (Craycraft) Manning, 100, died at 5:45 A.M. Wednesday June 17, 2015 in the Waters of Covington. Born in Rossville, IL. To Lester and Madoline (Bivens) Miles on September 16, 1914. She celebrated her 100th birthday last September with family and many friends. Ruth married Curtis Manning in a double wedding with Bill and Nyle Gookins on March 17, 1934 in Covington, Indiana. After Curtis passed, she married Dwight Craycraft on May 9, 1992. She went to school through her Junior Year of High School at Kingman, IN.
Ruth is survived by three sons, Norman Bounce Manning, Ron (Nancy) Manning and Dennis Manning, all of Veedersburg, In. Three Grandchildren Shannon (Joe) Cox, R.D. (Cindy Boone) Manning, both of Veedersburg, IN. and Jason (Page) Manning of Lafayette, IN. Five Great-Grandchildren; Benjamin Cox, Hannah Cox, Grant Manning, Nolen Manning and Kelsey Manning. Two Step-Grandchildren; Valarie (Carl) Hoagland and Renee (Neil) Keller, five Step-Great-Grandchildren; Adam, Seth and Elijah Hoagland,Rachel and Megan Johnson. A sister Marjorie Mann and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents, both Husbands, two Sisters a Brother and a Daughter-in-law.
Ruth was the oldest present member of The Sterling Christian Church and belonged to the Ladies Aid and Kit Club. She worked as a Fountain County Deputy Treasurer for 10 years. She was a life-long member of the Democratic Party. Ruth enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday June 22, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg, Indiana. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday June 23, 2015 at the Church, with Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the Rockfield Cemetery.
