Rosalie Rosie Allen, 91 died at 2:30 p. m Thursday January 23, 2014 at her home of many years south of Covington. She was born September 29, 1922 at Bono, IN the daughter of Marion G. and D Emma (Lowry) Rhoads.
Rosie graduated from Cayuga High School and was a resident of Eugene, before moving to the Stringtown area in 1940. She had been employed at Perrysville High School, Fountain Trust Company, Wallace Law Office, Olin and retired from Flexel. She was an excellent swimmer, roller skater and dancer. Rosie always made Christmas a magical time. She was a member of Kingman American Legion Auxiliary.
Rosalie married Millard Mutt Allen October 4, 1940 at Waterloo, IA. He survives with 3 children, Deanna (Gary) Demes of Bloomington, IN, Dennis (Suzy) Allen of rural Covington, Dawn (William) Blake of Indianapolis, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Her parents and a sister preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P. M. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday January 26, 2014 at 2:00 p. m. in Stringtown Church of God with Pastor Keith Klossner officiating. Interment in Coal Creek Cemetery.
