Ralph Clem Bell, 85, of Covington died at 1:45 A. M. Monday August 25, 2014 at the Waters of Covington. He was born June 22, 1929 in Kent Township, Warren County the son of Harley Arthur and Mary Elizabeth (Clem) Bell.
Ralph was a life resident of Kent Township, and was a farmer. He was a 1947 graduate of Covington High School. He was a member of State Line Methodist Church until it closed; a 50 year member of Fountain Lodge #60 F. & A. M. and a Past Master of the former State Line Masonic Lodge. He served in the National Guard for several years. Ralph was a devoted Indianapolis 500 Race Fan, attending the race every year. He enjoyed his family, fishing in Canada, and travelling in 45 of the 50 states.
Ralph married Anita Johnson October 16, 1949 at State Line Methodist Church and she survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Greg (Kris) Bell and Jeff (Joyce) Bell, both of Covington; a sister Martha (Ray) Barnes of Savannah, GA; 2 sister-in-laws, Betty Kerby and Rosalie Bowlus, a brother-in-law, Richard Clark. Four grandchildren survive, Ryan (Nicole) Bell, Tyson (Melissa) Bell, Anne (Rex) Spencer, Adam (fiance Melissa McDonald) Bell; six great grandchildren, Lea McKay, Austin Long, Mason Bell, Alivia Bell, Liam Bell and Adrian Bell. His parents, brother Merrill, and sister Marjorie Clark preceded him in death.
A celebration of Ralphs life will be Thursday August 28, 2014 at 10:30 A. M. at Shelby Funeral Home with Rodney Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 5::00 to 8:00 P. M. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com.
