Millicent (Allen) Hadley, 88 died suddenly Monday morning April 9, 2012 at home. She was born May 26, 1923 in Stringtown, Fountain County, IN the daughter of the late Zimmie and Anna May (Berto) Allen.
She graduated with the class of 1939 from Perrysville High School and attended Indiana Business College, Indianapolis. She was raised in Stringtown, and lived there most of her life. She wintered in Mesa, AZ from 1984 -1990. She moved to Attica in 1985 and returned to Stringtown in 2011. Millicent retired in 1983 from General Electric Company in Danville, IL, as a secretary after 35 years of service.
She was a member of West Liberty Church of Christ, and enjoyed playing golf, bridge and gardening.
Millicent married Donald Eugene Hadley January 11, 1944 at Kingman. He died August 20, 2009. She is survived by a brother, Millard B. Mutt (Rosalie) Allen of Covington; 2 nieces, Deanna (Gary) Demes of Bloomington, IN; Dawn (William) Blake of Indianapolis; a nephew, Dennis (Suzy) Allen of Covington; 7 great nieces and nephews; 10 great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p. m. Friday April 13, 2012 at Shelby Funeral Home with Kevin Wildman officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p. m.
