Mickey Swaney

Mickey Swaney, 79, of Otterbein, IN passed away on September 3, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.  Mickey was born on August 14, 1944 in Covington, IN to Archie Leroy and Isabel (McKinney) Swaney.  Mickey married Julia M. LaFever on August 6, 1967.

Mickey is survived by his wife Julia Swaney of Cayuga, IN, his children Sheila (Dallas) Moore of Perrysville, IN, Patty (Scott) Keller of Veedersburg, IN, Bradley (Lisa) Swaney of Otterbein, IN, Donna Swaney of Cayuga, IN, Melissa Swaney of Cayuga, IN, and his son-in-law Raymond McGaha of Danville, IL.  Mickey is survived by 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.  He also has several nieces and nephews.  Mickey is preceded in death by both of his parents, Archie and Isabel Swaney, his daughter Debbie McGaha, a son Rickey Leroy Swaney, and three brothers; John William, Richard Dean, and Donnal Ralph Swaney.

Mickey worked at Heatcraft in Danville, IL and retired after 35 years.  Mickey enjoyed going to AA meetings with his friend Dave and being with his family.  Mickey had a cat named Smokey that will also miss him dearly.

Services will be at 7:00 P. M. EDT Wednesday September 6, 2023 at West Liberty Church of Christ (2806 SR 32 Covington, IN) with Pastor Kurt Flora officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 P. M.
