Michael Scott Gose, 60 of Danville died at 11:28 a. m. Saturday March 1, 2014 at home. He was born January 20, 1954 at Danville the son of Marvin O. and Donna Joan (Cook) Gose.
He received his GED from Danville High School. Mike served 4 years in the U S Marine Corps and 16 years in the U S Army, retiring in 1993. He then was employed as a CDL instructor at DACC, Illinois Drivers License Bureau and last was caretaker at the Danville National Guard Armory for several years. Mike attended The Vineyard Church. Mikes memberships included American Legion Post #210, a charter member of Christian Motorcyclists Association, and founder of the American Legion Riders. Mike loved to ride his Harley and was a big practical joker.
Surviving is a sister Debra Lynn (Jim) Rowley of Indianapolis, a nephew Christopher (Darcy) Rowley of Indianapolis, the light of his life great niece Sydney Sue Rowley; former wife and close friend Shirley Lambert, step daughter Wendy Lambert and step son Carl Fox, all of Danville. His parents, nephew Jimmy Rowley, and maternal grandmother Mildred Craft preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p. m. EST Friday March 7, 2014 at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Jay Sorrell officiating. Burial will be in Lower Mound Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #210. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p. m. EST Thursday at the funeral home.
