Max Raymond Teeguarden, 83 died Wednesday May 18, 2011 at Richard E. Roudebush V A Medical Center, Indianapolis. He was born May 23, 1927 at Holgote, OH the son of John Carl and Helen Irene Tibbett Teeguarden.
Max attended Veedersburg Schools and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He moved to Covington in 1960 and was a nurse assistant at Danville VA Hospital before retiring. He was a member of Fulton Banta Post #291 American Legion and formerly a member of Covington Civil Defense. He enjoyed antique cars and shows, NASCAR, John Wayne movies and wrestling.
Max married Hilda Mae Booe July 18, 1954 and she died July 5, 1995. Surviving are six children, Carla (Herbert) Wagner of Covington, Jeanne (Frank) Williams of West Lebanon, Dixie Bridgewater and John Teeguarden, both of Danville, Kelly Teeguarden of Henning, IL and Michael (Janelle) Teeguarden of Covington; a sister Marilyn Jean Taylor of Covington and a brother Marion in NC; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services at 2:00 p. m. EDT Monday May 23, 2011 at Shelby Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Cloud officiating. Burial will follow in Danville National Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion. Visitation will be Noon until service time 2:00 p. m. Monday.
