Mary Jo Schlarf

Mary Jo Schlarf, 74, of Covington died at 5:44 A. M. Thursday April 28, 2016 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital after a long and happy life. She was born November 10, 1941 at Winslow, IN the daughter of Herbert and Arah (Woodford) Corn.

She was a 1959 graduate of Oakwood High School. She moved to Covington from Danville, IL in 1967. Mary Jo was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Attica where she had many friends. She was employed 32 years as a secretary in Wallace Law office retiring in 2006.

Mary Jo married Gary Schlarf December 19, 1959 in Danville, IL and he survives. Surviving is a daughter Ursula Schlarf of Covington and a son, Eric (Tammy) Schlarf of Rochester, IN; two granddaughters whom she loved very much; Kate Schlarf of Evansville, IN and Jenna Schlarf of Rochester, IN. Also surviving is a brother Terry (Connie) Corn of Bismarck, IL. Her parents, a brother William Corn and a sister Shirley Stimac preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Monday May 2, 2016 at 11:00 A. M. in Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Pastors William Boyer III and William Nickle officiating. Burial will be in Lower Mound Cemetery south of Covington.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 P. M. Sunday and one hour before services on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials requested to Grace Baptist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com. Visitation
