Marlene Jane Rudolph Young (neé Wall), 87, passed away at 2:30am Tuesday October 15, 2024.
The daughter of Aaron Grant Wall and Leona Faye Shonk Wall Page, she was born on December 9, 1936 in Linton, IN. Marlene married Lloyd Francis Rudolph on September 30, 1956 in Danville, IL. She re-married on August 19, 2012 to John Allan Young in Danville, IL
She is survived by her daughter Kathy (Randy) Swick of Ridge Farm, IL, and two sons, Kevin Lloyd (Julie) Rudolph of Covington, IN and Kenneth (Becky) Rudolph of Munster, IN.; Also surviving are two sisters, Nancy (Larry) Keller of Leesburg, FL and Jeannie (Larry) Ohl of Catlin, IL; three brothers, Eddie (Bonnie) Wall of Murfreesboro, TN, Alan Page of Eugene, OR, and Jack Page of Danville, IL; eight grandchildren, Britni (Sebastian) Ceijka, Cortni Rudolph, Cassy (Rob) Ludwig, Cody (Christina) Swick, Malori (Adam) Whitford, Lindsey (Chance) Potter, Maggie Rudolph, Eliana Rudolph; and twelve great-grandchildren, Ewa, Ariana, Violet, and Scarlet Ceijka; Hunter and Gauge Ludwig; Karsyn and Kyndal Swick; Ada, Thea, and Alfred Whitford; and Shiloh Potter; John’s children Polly Akers, Dan Young, and Roy Young also survive.
She is preceded in death by Lloyd and John, her parents, step-father; Everett Page, and brother; Gary Page.
Marlene was a bank teller in Danville, IL for many years and would rarely go out, but she would meet someone she knew and strike up a conversation. In the early 70’s, Marlene and Lloyd were house parents at the Florida Children’s home in Melbourne, FL and continued fostering children in the Danville Area. She worked for Sword of the Lord in Murfreesboro, TN and remained active in the church, teaching Sunday school and serving on mission councils. She loved to sew and many friends and family received baby blankets for their new arrivals.
A private graveside service will be held at Lower Mound Cemetery with a visitation from 2-3 PM (EST) Thursday, October 24, 2024 with Celebration of Life service to follow at 3pm at the funeral home chapel.
