Marion E Grimes, 82 of Covington passed away at 10:30 a. m. Monday August 29, 2011 at The Waters of Covington. He was born September 16, 1928 in Danville, IL the son of Guy and Josephine Wooley Grimes.
He was a resident of the Rileysburg area for most of his life until moving to Covington a year ago. He was a graduate of Perrysville High School. Marion was a farmer for all his working life. He baled hay in the Rileysburg area for over 50 years and worked many winters for Superior Coach Sales of Perrysville.
Marion married Marjorie Ilene Seyfert on December 11, 1949 in Danville, IL. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2010.
He will be greatly missed by his survivors including a son, Michael (Nancy) Grimes of Covington; a granddaughter, Tracy Grimes Randles of Covington; four great-grandchildren, Josie Juvinall, Izaak Randles, Izayah Randles and Izabelle Randles. Preceding him in death were two daughters, Cheryl and Kay and a grandson, David Grimes.
Private family services will be held Wednesday August 31, 2011 with Pastor Andy Harkleroad officiating. Burial will be in Old Atherton Cemetery. Shelby Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com
