Louis Edward Budnovich of Danville, Illinois died at 9:05 p. m. Saturday January 29, 2011 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Budnovich lived to be ninety-nine years old. He was born August 20, 1911 at Kangley, IL the son of Joseph and Mary Victoria (Gaydos) Budnovich.
He resided in Danville since 1927 and attended Lynch School. For 32 years he was a delivery man for three prominent Danville dairies, Illiana, Bowman and Producers retiring in 1963. For many years after retiring he worked as a carpenter remodeling homes. Louis enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He attended Stringtown Church of God.
Louis married Dorothy M. Gritten October 10, 1930 at Paris, IL. She preceded him in death May 13, 2009 at the age of 98. Surviving are three daughters, Marianne (Donald) Sullivan of Lisle, IL, Billie (George) Vredenburg of Covington, Anita (Ron) Dowden of Circleville, OH, a son Donald (Sandee) Budnovich of Danville, IL, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren. His parents, a son Louis, Jr., brother, sister, and granddaughter preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 11:00 a. m. to Noon EST Saturday February 5, 2011 at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, IN. Services will follow at Noon EST with Pastor Keith Klossner officiating. Burial will be in Collison Cemetery, Collison, IL. The family requests donations are made to the Stringtown Church of God with envelopes available at the funeral home.
