Leo Roger Bergeron

Leo Roger Bergeron, 81, of Covington died at 6:04 P. M. Friday March 6, 2020 at home following an extended illness. He was born November 13, 1938 at Burlington, VT the son of Conrad U. and Rose Eva (Grenier) Bergeron.

Leo graduated from Burlington High School, enlisted in the Navy in 1958 and retired as E-7 in 1978. He was Postmaster of Sheldon, VT, retiring after 20 years.  He resided in Florida for several years after retiring and moved to Covington, IN in 2004.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 4th degree Knights of Columbus, and Walter Hoyt Post #350 American Legion, Perrysville.

Leo was married to Nona (Tarbox) Bergeron, who preceded him in death. Leo married Betty Jean Noble May 17, 2004 at Ripley, NY and she survives.  Also surviving is a son Raymond Leo Bergeron of Swanton, VT; a daughter-in-law Leslie Bergeron; a brother Gerard (Joan) Bergeron of Milton, VT; two sisters, Helen (Peter) Dolan of Barefoot Bay, FL, Rita (Robert) Lee of Canaan, VT; two step-children Darrell Wayne (Emma) Stonebraker of Veedersburg, IN, Tanya (Tony) Keller of Marshall, IN; three grandchildren, Camryn Bergeron, Sidney Bergeron, Ashley Robinson.  Also surviving are three step grandchildren, Dustin Stonebraker, Brandi Keller, Jeramiah Wesley; three step great grandchildren, Makayla Keller, Caleb Keller, and Ebren Keller.  His parents, two sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services 1:00 P. M. EST Tuesday March 10, 2020 at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, IN with Pastor Paul Kent officiating. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery with military honors by the Navy and Perrysville American Legion.  Visitation 12:00 P. M. Tuesday until time of services at 1:00 P.
