Julie Ann Haga

Julie Ann Haga, 65, of Covington was born November 6, 1959 in Danville, IL at St. Elizabeth Hospital and went to be with the Lord January 27, 2025. She was born, the daughter of Clifford “Earl” Haga and Betty (Palmer) Haga Cates. 

She is survived by her mother, sisters, Karen (Dale) Howard of Veedersburg and Rebecca “Becky” Haga of rural Kingman. Nephew, Matthew (Stephanie) Howard of Crawfordsville, nieces, Sarah “Katie” (Justin) Krout of Veedersburg and Ashley (Cody) Benschneider of Tilton, IL and their children, Miles and Colin Howard, Zoey Krout and Hunter Key and Madelynn Benschneider. She is preceeded in death by her father.

Julie was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Covington having sang in the choir then the praise team. She also held a position on the Covington Christian School Board. She was a 1977 graduate of Covington High School and class treasurer. She was also a member of the National Honor Society.

Julie worked on medical records at the United Samaritan Hospital in Danville and also enjoyed working on the family farm. She also worked at the polls for a few years in Kingman. She was an avid reader and enjoyed posting reviews on facebook.

Julie loved traveling and visited 17 presidential libraries and homes, even having her picture taken with Jimmy Carter. She visited all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and Europe as well as amission trip to Panama with Manna Worldwide. She throughly enjoyed her many trips to Disney World and Disneyland with her family.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 11-1 PM (EST) with funeral service to follow at 1 PM at First Baptist Church, Covington, IN with Pastor Andy Harkleroad officiating. Interment thereafter at Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington, IN

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Covington, IN.
