Covington Jack Gerard, 86 of Madison, TN, a Covington native, died at 4:29 p. m. Monday March 7, 2011 at Skyline Medical Center ER, Nashville, TN. He was born in Covington June 1, 1924 the son of George and Goldie Roth Gerard.
Jack was a 1942 graduate of Covington High School and attended Indiana University. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in the Pacific theatre. He was a home builder, having built many homes in the Covington and Danville and Hoopeston, IL area. He was a former district president of the Indiana Home Builders Association. He was a member of Covington First Baptist Church and Fountain Lodge # 60 F & A M. He was a resident of Covington most of his life, moving to Nashville 15 years ago.
Jack married Lorraine J. Allen May 22, 1947 at Covington First Baptist Church and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter Cindy (Phillip) Stauder of Madison, TN; 2 grandchildren, Matthew (Heather) Stauder of Madison, TN, and Melissa (Andrew) Coomer of Hendersonville, TN, 5 great grandchildren. His parents, a brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 12:00 to 2:00 p. m. Thursday March 10, 2011 at Shelby Funeral Home with funeral services at 2:00 p. m. Pastor Joe Humerichous officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
