Helen B. Ball, 94. Of Covington died at 7:50 P. M. Sunday July 20, 2014 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital.
She was born March 12, 1920 at Foster, IN the daughter of Earl and Marie N. (Gaskin) Strawser. Helen married Robert F. Ball June 17, 1939 at Indianapolis and he died October 2, 2009.
Surviving is a brother, Robert E. (Dorothy) Strawser of Veedersburg, a son-in-law, Richard Briles of Williamsport, eight nieces and nephews, Sally Gritten, Patty (Roger) Coffing, Kay Hunter, Kathy (Bob) Wilson, Denny Strawser, Suzy Strawser, Shawn Briles, and Shelley Crain. Her parents, a daughter, Sharyn Briles, two sisters, Louise Hunter, Marjorie Strawser, and a nephew, Jack Hunter preceded her in death.
Helen was a 1938 graduate of Covington High School and had been a resident of Covington most of her life. She and Bob operated the Dairy Queen West of Covington for 14 years. They spent the winter in Texas for 20 years and then resided at Cape Coral and San Juan for several years, returning to Covington in 2007.
She was a member of Benson Chapel United Methodist Church, a charter member of Ft. Myers Beach O. E. S., and a former member and Past Worthy Matron of George Gary Soule O. E. S.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 P. M. Thursday July 24, 2014 at Benson Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Brenda Burnworth officiating.
