Gerald Brenton Bennett

Gerald Brenton Bennett, 66 of Covington died at 3:39 p. m. Sunday December 19,2010at Provena USMC Logan Campus. He was born in Danville March 23, 1944 the son of Thomas John and Helen (Simon) Bennett.
He graduated from Covington High School in 1962 and attended Rose Hulman. He was a life resident of Covington and a farmer. Jerry was a member of Benson Chapel United Methodist Church, and a former member of Covington Lions Club.
Jerry married Joanne Mallett June 25, 1965 at Benson Chapel and she survives. Also surviving are 3 sons, Gregory A. (Lisa) Bennett of Grapevine, TX; Jeffrey (Barbara) Bennett of Hayworth, IL; and Matthew (Mollianne) Bennett of Covington; 10 grandchildren.
Memorial services 11:00 a. m. Wednesday December 22, 2010 at Shelby Funeral Home with Rev. Brenda Burnworth officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p. m. Tuesday.
