Georgianna Myers

Georgianna Myers, 83, of Covington passed this life Sunday afternoon, December 29, 2019 in Lafayette, Indiana.

She was born on October 22, 1936 to Dale and Merle (Volkel) Gouty in Gessie, Indiana. She was a lifelong resident of Covington, Indiana.

Georgianna married Don Myers on November 7, 1954 in Gessie, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2006.  They were blessed with two children, and will be dearly missed by Gregory A. Myers (wife Sandy) of Covington, Indiana and Diana L. Sweezy (husband Jim) of Joppa, Alabama.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, a niece, two nephews and two special friends, Natalie Rice and Charlotte Clodfelder.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one brother.

Georgianna was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. She also volunteered working in the gift shop at Williamsport Hospital for eight years.  She was a devoted housewife, mother and mamaw and will be dearly missed by all.

A celebration of Georgianna’s life will be held at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, IN at 1:00 P. M. EST Thursday January 2, 1020 with Andy Harkleroad officiating. Visitation will be held between 11:00 A. M. and 1:00 P. M. EST Thursday at Shelby’s.
