Garland Mescal Simerl Dobb, 88 of Zephyrhills, FL died at 4:55 p. m. Saturday July 13, 2013 at Gulfside Regional Hospice, Zephyrhills. She was born January 7, 1925 at Covington, IN the daughter of Jesse Verl and Alpha (Morris) ONeal.
Mescal married Rex Simerl May 16, 1942 at Covington and he died October 17, 1983. She married Barney C. Dobb April 2, 1986 and he died March 14, 2008. Surviving are four children, Deanna Garland Ingram of Bradenton, FL; Theodore Rex (Alice) Simerl of Zephyrhills, FL; Jeffrey Wayne (Judy) Simerl of Sunnyside, WA; and Teresa Ann Taffy Grubb of Covington, IN; a step daughter Jill (Robert) Caudill of Lillian, AL; four siblings, Melva Melvin of Waynetown, IN; Jerald M. (Helen) ONeal of Covington, IN; Verla I. Peggy (Harold) Merryman of Veedersburg, IN; and Donald James ONeal of Newtown, IN; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her parents and an infant daughter preceded her in death.
Mescal attended Covington Schools, and was a Covington resident for many years. She was employed at Olin Corp. many years before retiring and moving to Florida. She was a member of Covington First Church of Christ.
