Floyd Eugene Boyer

Floyd Eugene Boyer, 87, of rural Williamsport died at 10:20 P. M. Saturday May 20, 2017 at Carmel Health and Living Center, Carmel, IN.  He was born January 4, 1930 at Kansas, IL the son of Emory and Ruth (Waters) Boyer.

Floyd was raised in Fountain County and a 1949 graduate of Kingman High School.  He served in the Army during the Korean War.  He was employed at Bates and Rogers in the Chicago area for many years, retiring in 1987, when he moved to Williamsport from West Chicago.  He was a former member of the Lions Club.

Floyd married Catherine Ruth Sinclair November 2, 1957 at Wheaton, IL.  She preceded him in death September 20, 2005.

Surviving are five children, Larry Dean (Susan) Boyer of Elgin, IL; James Roger Boyer of West Chicago, IL; Nancy Jean (Fred) Felella of Sugar Grove, IL; Debra Lynn Boyer of Sycamore, IL; and Scott E. (Amy) Boyer of West Lebanon, IN; two sisters, Julie (Bill) Harper of Covington, IN and Mary (Lavon Beryl) Vollmer of Veedersburg, IN; eleven grandchildren, three step grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.  His parents, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Saturday May 27, 2017 at 2:00 P. M. EDT at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Bruce Thornsbrough officiating.  Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation Friday 5:00 to 8:00 P. M.
