Florence L. Pitzer, 91 of Covington died at 9:37 a. m. Wednesday January 2, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. She was born August 30, 1921 at Williamsport, IN., the daughter of Arnett and Flossie (Fewell) Crudge.
Her memberships include: Sterling Christian Church, and Rural Troy Home Economics Club. She was employed at Community Action for 17 years before retiring in 1986.
Florence married Forrest Ray Pitzer December 31, 1940 and he died August 20, 1983. She is survived by 2 daughters, Ruth (Harold) Newkirk and Barbara Jean Clifton, both of Covington; a son Donald (Tami) Pitzer of Danville, IL; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great granddaughters. Her parents, a brother, a son, a grandson and a sister preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Saturday January 5, 2013 at 1:00 p. m. (EST) at Shelby Funeral Home with Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p. m. Friday. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com.
