Faith Ellen Jody Coffing, 68 of Covington died suddenly at 11:52 a. m. Sunday December 16, 2012 at home. She was born April 30, 1944 at Bradford, PA the daughter of William and Lillian (Happell) Welker.
She was a former resident of Pennsylvania, Fort Wayne and Logansport, moving to Covington in 1992. She attended IUPUI and was employed at Magnavox in Fort Wayne for twenty years before retiring. Jody attended Pleasant Grove Bible Chapel. She was a registered gemologist.
Jody married Charles H. Coffing September 1, 1985 at Roanoke, IN. He survives with 4 children, David (Marge) Smith and James F. (Angie) Coffing, both of Ft. Wayne, Rachel Susann (Nic) Hilweh and Angelia K. (Chris) Compton, both of Wilsonville, OR; 2 half-sisters, Diane Baker of Kendallville and Donna Smith of Churubusco; a half-brother Michael (Sue) Tanesky of Ft. Wayne; and 10 grandchildren. Her parents, a brother and a granddaughter preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p. m. Tuesday at Shelby Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday December 19, 2012 at Oakland Cemetery north of Elmdale, IN with Pastor Doug McCord officiating. Memorials requested to Rileys Childrens Hospital with envelopes available at the funeral home.
