Eunice Ellen Delp, 71, of Covington died Tuesday March 15, 2022 at The Waters of Covington, where she had resided for several years. She was born August 15, 1950 at Danville, IL the daughter of Charles Robert and Norma Jean (Redenbaugh) Babb.
She graduated from Danville High in 1969 and took some classes at Danville Junior College. She was a professional accordion player. She won first prize and champion ribbons at Douglas Park in Danville playing the accordion and singing. She wrote a song about Danville, IL. She had worked at Continental Can and Redwood Inn at Danville. She was member of Hillsboro Nazarene Church and a born-again Christian.
Eunice married Eugene Ward Delp at Veedersburg on November 7, 1970, and he preceded her in death January 9, 2010. Her parents and a daughter Theresa Knipe also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Travis (Rhonda) Delp of Collinsville, OK, and Brian (Beth) Delp of Covington; twelve grandchildren and two great granddaughters. Also surviving are three sisters, Carla (Dallas) Davis of MO; Janie (Steve) Martin of Cayuga; and Helen (James) Preston, Danville, IL, a great aunt Fauniel Bever, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services 12:00 P. M. EDT Saturday March 19, 2022 at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Gregg McDonald officiating. Visitation 11:00 A. M. until time of services at 12:00 P. M. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. Condolences to the family: www.Shelby funeral home.com.
