Eric Matthew Korte, 34 of Covington died unexpectedly at 2:13 a. m. Saturday December 22, 2012 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. He was born January 16, 1978 at Champaign, IL the son of Larry D. and Pamela K. (Fleming) Korte.
He was a 1996 graduate of Covington High School and a 2001 graduate of Indiana State University. He was a member of Covington United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his parents of Covington; a brother Robert Korte of Bloomington, IL; maternal grandmother June C. Shrader of Arthur, IL; a niece Alyssa Grace Korte; 2 aunts Patrice Fleming and Janet (Paul) Osborne; 2 uncles, Ronald (Ruth) Korte and Phillip (Karen) Korte; several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers and fraternal grandmother.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p. m. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled 11:00 a. m. Thursday December 27, 2012 at Covington United Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials requested to Mental Health Association with envelopes available at Shelby Funeral Home.
