Elaine Louise France, 76, of Covington died at 6:15 P. M. Sunday November 9, 2014 at The Waters of Covington having been seriously ill for some time.
She was born January 7, 1938 at Hoopeston, IL the daughter of Elam H. and Eunice M. (Clark) Grider.
Elaine was a life resident of Fountain County, residing in Covington 52 years and a 1956 graduate of Kingman High School. She was a member of West Liberty Church of Christ.
She had polio at the age of 3 and endured the effects of it all of her life, but you would never know it because of her positive demeanor and pleasant smile. She displayed her smile to everyone during her 20 years at Covington IGA before retiring due to ill health.
Elaine performed in several Danville Light Opera productions. She enjoyed karaoke, fashionable clothes and decorating.
Surviving is a daughter Elise (Dan) Warrick of Covington and Marathon, FL, a beloved and devoted friend Tim McKamey; 2 grandsons, Nathan Warrick of Bloomington, IN, and Joel Warrick of Marathon, FL; a step sister Gail (Jim) Tuggle of Decatur, IL. Her parents, step mother Viola Grider, and brother Raymond Clark Grider preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 P. M. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home. Graveside services at 11:00 A. M. Friday November 14, 2014 in Mount Hope Cemetery with Zach Rainey officiating.
