Edna Drummond, 96 died at 3:30 a. m. Wednesday January 11, 2012 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born October 16, 1915 at Danville, IL the daughter of Nasby Earl and Laura Melissa (Osborne) Hume.
Edna graduated from Oakwood High School. She resided at Stone Bluff 1944 -1989, Covington 1989 2002, Columbia, TN 2002 2007, when she returned to Fairmount. She worked at RMC in Attica, and ATI in Danville. Edna attended Benson Chapel United Methodist Church.
Edna married Willis Franklin Drummond April 15, 1936 at Danville, and he died February 22, 2003. She is survived by four children, Martin (Rita) Drummond of Perrysville, IN, Marolyn (David) Jeffers of Fairmount, IL, John (Carrie) Drummond of Carmel, IN, and Helen Knoepful of Culleoka, TN; a brother, Thomas (Loretta) Hume of Longmont, CO; 2 sisters, Winnie Stark of Danville, IL and Eva Verhoven of Oakwood, IL; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, son Marvin, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p. m. EST Friday at Shelby Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a. m. EST Saturday January 14, 2012 at Shelby Funeral Home with Rev. Brenda Burnworth officiating. Burial will follow in Stearns Cemetery, Fithian, IL. Memorials suggested to Walther Cancer Foundation with envelopes available at Shelby Funeral Home.
