Catherine "Cathy" L. Cooper

Catherine L. Cooper, 53 of Covington, passed away unexpectedly at 4:07 a.m. Sunday April 7, 2019 in Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health Hospital of Crawfordsville.

Cathy was born August 19, 1965 in Danville, Illinois to Gary and Lucille (Bushue) Vollmer. She married Gary W. Cooper June 1, 1985 in the Assembly of God Church in Covington, IN. Cathy was a life resident of Wabash Twp. near Covington and a 1983 graduate of Covington High School. She enjoyed cross stitching, reading on her front porch and loved her horses, dog and cats. Cathy loved her school kids as an extended family. She had been employed in the cafeteria at Covington School Corporation for the past 9 years.

Survivors include her parents Gary and Lucille Vollmer, husband Gary W. Cooper, daughter Kaylee V. Cooper, brother Charles A. (Denise) Vollmer and her “adopted sons” Tyler and Tanner Nolan along with their family.

Visitation will be Thursday April 11, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Stringtown Church of God located at 2390 South Stringtown Road Covington, IN. Funeral service will be Friday April 12, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. in the Church with Pastor Keith Klossner officiating. Burial will follow in Coal Creek cemetery. Shelby Funeral Home of Covington has been entrusted with the arrangements.
