Bobby Joe Huxford, 74 of Covington died at 3:39 a. m. Friday January 18, 2013 at his home. He was born May 27, 1938 near Rosedale, IN the son of Earl and Ruth (Brown) Huxford.
Bob was a 1957 graduate of Rosedale High School. He moved from Parke County to Covington in 1959 and was employed at Olin Corp. thirty years, retiring in 1989. He was a long time member of the First Baptist Church, and the NRA. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Bob married Sharon E. Newnum August 5, 1966 at Covington. She survives with a daughter, Marka (Ed) Woolwine of Kingman; 2 sons, Michael Drollinger of Veedersburg and Steven (Jill) Drollinger of Hillsboro; a sister Maxine Brown of Brownsburg; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. His parents and 3 brothers, Wayne, Donald and Max preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p. m. Sunday at Covington First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Monday January 21, 2013 at 11:00 a. m. at the First Baptist Church. Pastors Joe Humerichous and Andy Harkleroad will officiate. Burial will follow in Coal Creek Cemetery. Memorials requested to the Covington Baptist School.
