Covington, IN. Betty L. Amos, age 86, died at 12:20 p.m. on Friday November 25, 2011 at The Waters of Covington. She was born on December 15, 1924 in Danville, IL., to Cecil and Bernice (Dubre) Henderson.
Betty had attended Covington High School and lived most of her life in State Line, until moving to Emporia, Kansas for 10 years, returning to Covington in February 2011.
She married Ernest W. Amos on November 1, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. And he preceded her in death on April 5, 2008.
Betty formerly worked at Tee Pak in Danville for many years.
She had been a member of the former State Line Methodist Church and was a former member of Eastern Star of Williamsport and the Gao Grotto Cauldron of Danville.
Surviving are three daughters, Sherry (John) McCoy of Indianapolis; Cindy (Rick) Birt of New Carlisle, Ohio and Marsha (Lary) Langley of Perrysville, IN.; two sisters, Beverly Dowers of Attica, IN. and Patty (Merle) Inman of Covington, IN.; four grandchildren, Bryan McCoy, Kerri (Eric) Burke, Lance Langley and Ricky Birt. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter and a grandson.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. (EDT) Saturday December 17, 2011, at Walnut Corner Cemetery, Bismarck, IL, with Patty Wise officiating. There will be no visitation, as cremation was chosen.
